The Challenge
A provincial social services ministry was implementing a major redesign and transformation of one of its programs that serves vulnerable children and youth throughout the province.
Deetken had conducted the initial financial modelling and redesign of the service delivery model for the program and was subsequently engaged to lead change management and communications for the ministry’s external stakeholders that would be impacted by the change.
Our Approach
Leveraging proven Prosci® change management methodology, Deetken developed an organizational change management strategy and plan to build awareness, desire and knowledge about the change among the ministry’s external stakeholders.
We developed and led a robust stakeholder engagement strategy that leveraged existing governance structures to hold a series of large in-person workshops and virtual workshops with stakeholders.
We have also developed and maintained communications materials, including a communications plan, key messages and FAQ documents; a change and change impact workbook that tracks the impacts of the changes on stakeholders; a training plan and needs assessment and other key change management tools and materials.
Outcome
This project is still ongoing, however, Deetken has made substantial progress in helping the ministry support the needs of its external stakeholders, manage risk and facilitate a smooth transformation and change management process.
