We are delighted to announce several new members to the Deetken team.
Jules McKercher joins us as a Senior Associate, based in Ottawa, where she brings more than two decades of experience in asset-based community development, focused on developing cross-sector solutions and collaborative partnerships to address critical social issues such as mental health and substance abuse and community safety and well-being. Prior to Deetken, Jules held various roles in the non-profit sector in Ontario, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories, ranging from frontline work in shelters and corrections facilities to leadership positions in rural and urban community development. Jules holds an MA in Legal Studies from Carleton University and is a certified Change Management Practitioner (APMG International).
Tricia Barfoot joins us as a Senior Consultant based in Waterloo, ON. Tricia is a senior data analytics and engineering professional with 20+ years of experience and expertise in data strategy, systems engineering, and analytical modelling. Prior to Deetken, she held leadership roles in applied data and engineering at BlackBerry Ltd. and Emmetros Ltd. She has a PhD in Statistics, a Master of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering and a Bachelor of Mathematics, all from the University of Waterloo. She is also a practising Professional Engineer (PEng) in Ontario.
Larissa Pereira joins us full-time as an Associate after completing a summer co-op at Deetken in 2023. She recently completed her MA in Economics from Simon Fraser University and is interested in social and behavioural economics and translating data into meaningful information. She also holds a BA in Arts (Honours) from the University of Manitoba. Larissa speaks fluent Portuguese.
Sophia Berk joins Deetken as an Associate, based in Victoria. Sophia has a background in conference management, digital marketing, and communications and recently completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria where she specialized in international business.
Martha Frere joins us as a Senior Operations Manager and will be responsible for overseeing Finance, HR and Operations for Deetken. Martha is a professional bookkeeper and small business owner and manager. She also holds a BASc in Civil Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland and has a Bookkeeping Professional Certificate from Bow Valley College.
Ana Ciampi joins Deetken as a Marketing & Customer Experience Strategist and will support Deetken’s business development team. She brings more than 15 years of experience in B2B and B2C environments. Prior to joining Deetken, Ana served as the Marketing Director of Back In Motion, a leading provider of allied healthare and physical rehabilitation services throughout the Lower Mainland. Ana has a physical therapy degree from Brazil and a Business and Management Post-Diploma from BCIT and holds certificates in data and marketing, digital marketing and customer experience leadership and implementation.
