We are excited to announce three well-deserved promotions at Deetken Insight. Zackary Young has been promoted to Principal and Gregor Nuhic and Jen Kanters have both been promoted to Consulting Specialist. Please join us in congratulating them on these achievements.
Zackary Young, Promoted to Principal
Zack joined Deetken in January 2022 as an Associate after completing a Master of Arts in Economics at the University of British Columbia. Since then, he has made meaningful contributions on numerous client accounts in the health care, IT sector, climate change, education and energy sectors.
Zack is recognized for his skill in complex data analysis and financial and economic modelling and has developed a particular strength in healthcare analytics through multiple projects with provincial health ministries and health authorities. Some of his healthcare projects include developing patient volume forecasts, evaluating physician incentive programs, and developing a cost-benefit analysis of a new provincial strategy for perinatal care. Zack has also worked directly with healthcare stakeholders, including managers and administrators. He is an expert in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and Python.
“This achievement is a testament to your hard work, dedication and professionalism. Your analytical approach to tackling problems combined with your creative problem solving skills have set you apart, and positioned you as a trusted advisor to clients, a mentor to your colleagues, and a leader within Deetken. We look forward to your continued success in your new leadership role.”
Gregor Nuhic, Promoted to Consulting Specialist
Gregor joined Deetken in October 2023 as a Senior Consultant bringing a deep background in IT project management from his experience at WBM Technologies and Xerox Canada. At Deetken, he has broadened his exposure to clients in the health care, policing and social services sectors.
Among his standout projects, Gregor led a pilot project to evaluate the use of generative AI to improve the efficiency of police report reviews for a municipal police department. He also led the development of a virtual health service plan for a BC regional health authority.
“Gregor is a systems thinker who consistently goes the extra mile for his clients, bringing completeness, warmth, and patience to every stage of his work. His rigorous analytical mindset, paired with a genuine commitment to those around him, makes him an excellent mentor and a trusted member of the Deetken leadership team.”
Jen Kanters, Promoted to Consulting Specialist
Jen joined Deetken in July 2022 as a Senior Consultant, bringing 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector and frontline social services. At Deetken, she has applied her skills in complex stakeholder management to facilitate multiple engagements with First Nations and Indigenous groups, supporting the co-development of a new funding model to uphold Indigenous jurisdiction over child and family services.
Jen has also served as an engagement lead on a major redesign of a provincial employment services program for a provincial ministry. She has completed San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training and is certified in Trauma Informed Practice and Fundamentals of OCAP® (Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession), which addresses Indigenous data sovereignty.
“Congratulations Jen! Your willingness to always lend a hand, your sharp attention to detail, and your deep passion for social impact — from Indigenous rights to supporting the unhoused and children — have made you an incredible asset to Deetken. We have no doubt these qualities will make you an inspiring and purpose-driven leader, and we can’t wait to see everything you accomplish in this next chapter!”
Congratulations to Gregor, Jen and Zack on these well-earned achievements! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next.
